Shari Appollon, LCSW-R is a psychoanalyst in full-time private practice working with individuals, couples, facilitating groups and providing supervision to mental health professionals. She also serves as the Associate Director of Clinical Services at NYC Affirmative, a group practice that offers sliding scale therapy centered towards LGBTQ+ and BIPOC adults. Shari is a graduate of the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, where she was awarded the Educator's Award for her written contribution to the psychoanalytic field; she is also a graduate of the Mitchell Center's One Year Introductory Program in Relational Studies. Shari continues to contribute her theoretical ideas and clinical experiences by writing about unconscious communication, Relational dynamics in the consulting room and the experience of being in the world as a Black Queer psychoanalyst.
